Times are Bad...:(

"...Save what you can.."

Times are really going to the shits. There are 3 industries which are almost recession proof... "Food" "Education" "Health"... These 3 industries are necessities to the people of today. You will forever need 'doctors and medical supplies' for sustenance of health.... People tend to almost certainly send their kids to school for education....and most of all people need to EAT!!!

When the deliberation of starting the coffee shop started, I took into consideration these factors and decided not to start a 'restaurant' due to the slipping economic situation. I thought that by starting a low budget coffee shop would make it even more recession proof. So here I am today, feeling how REAL the recession is to the people these days.

Survey of other coffee shops has also revealed that their daily sales has dropped tremendously. Some even by half or more. I can't say that my business has dropped because I've only recently started so the 'sales trend' has not been established as yet...but sales has dropped regardless.
(if it continues like this...I'll never make my capital back!!...so won't be able to get married..)

I thought initially that I could be running the business wrongly and kept assessing and improving...but the truth is that people are not even willing to come out to eat these days.

Mostly, people are generally eating less outside and cooking at home, because cooking for a family is much cheaper in the long run. Singles and newly weds are still eating out though...however also not as much.

I have been thinking...Where have all the people gone?!...

3 possible answers:-

1) People are not coming out to eat these days and trying to save as much money as possible.
2) People are going to nicer restaurants because they can eat on credit. (Using the devil card named Visa or Master)
3) People are going through really bad times and don't even have money to eat.

"Hmm.. Maybe I should install a credit card machine here also at Two Billion...Imagine 'Chinese Tea' RM0.50 also wanna use credit card...haha "

So...Times are really really bad.
But the funny thing is.... when I had the time... I went to KL and had a look at the clubs and entertainment places, such as spas, massage parlours and bars.... FULL OF PEOPLE!!!
I've tried to rationalise...but I can't seem to understand.

Where do these people find the money to sustain such a lifestyle. Either they have really deep pockets, or Mommy and Daddy has really deep pockets or they are really paid a lot..

So go figure...If people were to see the situations in the entertainment places, they'd never believe that we are under-going a global recession. Drugs are on the rampant rise and people are willing to spend money buying these drugs....HOW COME!??!!...

Was told by my 'Fruit Stall' owner that girls working in 'Spas' or 'Health Centres' are now sending SMS's out to its regular customers selling them a 'Coffee Bean' sorta loyalty package...
5 'Happy Endings' and get 1 Free!!!... (can you fucking believe this!!?)

Anyway, whether the 'recession' is real or not to you guys... Just be careful where you spend your money!..OK!..

On a separate note, I think I've found a housemate to move in with me. Although not for much rent, but sure beats not having anything. We're still in discussion now but hopefully we can work out something. This should be fun!!...haha.
